In the United States market, there are several renowned nutrition brands dedicated to providing high-quality supplements, including various NMN supplements. These brands continually update their product lines, striving for optimal effectiveness, with some products being hailed as the best NMN supplements of 2024. Additionally, numerous laboratories have been conducting research on NMN and its derivatives, such as Aidevi. The long-term research conducted by these labs has demonstrated several benefits of NMN, including:

  • Enhanced energy metabolism
  • Improved endurance during exercise
  • Promotion of cell repair and regeneration
  • Boosted immune system function

These functionalities have garnered significant attention, making NMN a focal point in the field of health.

Dr. David Sinclair's Latest Research on NMN Anti-Aging

David Sinclair

Principal Investigator

Professor, Department of Genetics – Blavatnik Institute

President, Academy for Health and Lifespan Research (AHLR)

  • Supplements Dr. David Sinclair Still Takes
  • NMN – 1g
  • NMN arguably stands at the forefront of Sinclair’s regimen, serving as a precursor to nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD+), a molecule that plays a fundamental role in cellular energy production, DNA repair, and the regulation of aging pathways. Addressing the natural decline of NAD+ levels, an established hallmark of aging, NMN supplementation can restore cellular health and function. As such, NMN has sparked excitement in the fields of anti-aging and wellness.
  • Some of NMN’s notable effects in humans and preclinical models include the following:

Recently, Dr. David Sinclair's study on NMN's anti-aging properties has gained widespread attention. According to his findings, NMN effectively increases intracellular NAD+ levels, which helps improve cellular function and thus delays the aging process. His research also suggests that NMN may reverse signs of aging, offering new hope in the realm of anti-aging. For instance, his research team found in experiments with mice that supplementing NMN could restore cellular function in elderly mice to a youthful state, highlighting NMN's immense potential in anti-aging.

NPA's Perspective on the FDA Ban

NPA, ANH File Citizen’s Petition with FDA on NMN

“Issues surrounding NAC and NMN are glaring examples of the FDA fundamentally failing American consumers and industry," said NPA's Daniel Fabricant, Ph.D.

However, despite NMN's promising prospects, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) recently issued a ban temporarily prohibiting the sale of NMN. The National Products Association (NPA) strongly opposes this move, considering it unreasonable. They point out that NMN, as a natural substance, has been proven safe and effective in many experiments. Furthermore, NMN's benefits, including enhanced energy metabolism and cell repair, have been thoroughly validated. Therefore, the NPA urges the FDA to provide concrete evidence supporting their decision and argues that NMN sales should be allowed to continue.

Detrimental Effects and Implications of FDA's NMN Ban

“System is Broken”

In 2021, NPA filed a Citizen’s Petition, and followed that up in 2022 with a lawsuit against the FDA on NAC. Now, with the NMN situation as further evidence, Dr. Fabricant said: “Issues surrounding NAC and NMN are glaring examples of the FDA fundamentally failing American consumers and industry. Today’s Citizen’s Petition on NMN positions NPA to have all options available needed to ensure NMN’s unwarranted regulatory uncertainty is rectified.”

Gretchen DuBeau, Executive and Legal Director of the Alliance for Natural Health USA, added, “Our system is broken. The FDA is allowing pharmaceutical companies to ransack nature by monopolizing nutrients that can and should be dietary supplements. NMN is found in foods like broccoli, avocado, and cucumbers. This life-extending substance should be widely available, but the FDA is creating a situation in which only those who can afford to pay exorbitant drug prices will be able to enjoy NMN’s many benefits.”

Despite objections from organizations like the NPA, the FDA's ban has resulted in numerous negative consequences. Firstly, NMN suppliers and consumers have been directly affected, unable to continue purchasing or selling the product. Secondly, the ban poses a barrier to future research and development. Many scientists and research institutions had planned to further explore NMN's applications in anti-aging but are now restricted due to the ban. This may delay progress in the anti-aging field and miss out on potential opportunities.

AIDEVI Brand Laboratory's Long-term Research and Outlook

AIDEVI, a reputable nutrition brand, has been committed to long-term research on NMN. They continuously verify and improve the safety and functionality of NMN supplements to ensure they meet the highest standards. As a trusted brand, their products have undergone three years of market testing without any safety incidents. Additionally, AIDEVI's laboratory continues to explore ways to optimize NMN's effects, including enhancing its ability to increase NAD+ levels and improving local absorption in the body. These studies are crucial for advancing NMN's application and development, ultimately benefiting human health.

Looking ahead, we anticipate further growth and contributions from NMN in promoting human health and longevity.
